Below is a listing of the assurance services offered.  This firm can perform these services or support other firms providing these services.

Audit (Financial Statement)

An audit is an examination and verification of a company’s financial and accounting records and supporting documents by an independent certified public accountant.  The auditor provides an opinion on the application of relevant accounting standards applied to the accounting data and financial statements.  The opinion is written and is included with the financial statements.  This is the highest level of assurance provided by the CPA to the client regarding the client’s financial statements.

Review (Financial Statement)

A review of financial statements is an engagement that results in the expression of less assurance than an audit, but more than in a compilation. A review consists of analytical procedures (i.e. change and/or trend and/or ratio analyses or other tests) and inquiries of management or other significant personnel.  This service is often combined with tax preparation.  This service is usually less expensive than an audit.

Compilation (Financial Statement)

A compilation is presenting accounting information in the form of financial statements. No assurance is provided on the statements or underlying assumptions. The accountant need not be independent.  This service is often combined with tax preparation.  This service is usually less expensive than a review.

Agreed Upon Procedures

An engagement where the client specifies procedures and the accountant agrees to perform those procedures. An accountant may accept an engagement to apply agreed upon procedures to financial statement elements, where the scope of the engagement is not sufficient to express an opinion, if the users assume responsibility for sufficiency of the procedures, and use of the report is restricted to specified users.  The fee for this service can vary based on the nature and extent of the procedures applied.
